Spring its around the corner! Inspired! Spring Hat Bunny card

 

I'm so looking forward to Spring! March 20th!!

That's only 5 days from now!

I love everything about Spring...flowers blooming, sunny blue skies, cozy temperatures and all the glorious colors everywhere! 

I'm inspired! So this past weekend I created this cutie spring card to celebrate the arrival of Spring!

For this card I used my Digi Stamp called “Spring Hat Bunny” (available at my Etsy Store) and I had a blast coloring it with my Copics! Love the color palette of pinks and greens! Especially I love the muted green color (moss shade) of the hat!

For these cards I used my favorite stamp set: "Cupcake Cuties"  (R-2050) and the "More Mimi" paper collection (V-855) as my starting point. I selected cardstock papers and Copic markers that match the patterned paper. Pinks, Greens and Browns with hints of cream will be the color palette I will use.

 

I have been dying to use some Pom Pom trim for the longest time...so this was the perfect opportunity! To bring the look together I added White Liquid Applique and Stickles glitter glue on the cupcake to add texture and dimension. I stitched the around card using my sewing machine and added a cute crochet pink flower with a button and scrapper's floss as the final touch. By way, that cute crochet flower was a gifty from my friend, Candi Dierenfield and just added the button on top (sweet, ah?) I love it!

My coloring & drawing "Toys" ~ art supplies I can't be without :)

 

I received several emails asking me about what I use to color and draw my illos….

Here it is, the art supplies (my toys) that I use on a daily basis for my illustrations. (Yes, I do draw and color each day, I just love it)

• 72 Copic Sketch Set A
• Various Copic Markers (Ciao, Original and Wide) * I'm adding more as needed
• Prismacolor Markers
• Copic Ciao 0 Blender
• Prismacolor pencils
• Pigma Micron pens
• Copic Multiliner pens
• Sakura Microperm pen
• Pilot Drawing Pen
• Pentel Hi-Polymer White Eraser
• Mechanical pencils with white eraser tips
• For paper I use Strathmore Bristol Smooth and my daily sketchbooks.
• Copic Marker Hand Color Chart
• The acrylic storage boxes (for markers and pencils) I got them from SamFlax 

I find the Copic Marker Hand Color Chart extremely helpful when coloring my illustrations, I really don’t have to guess the color shades because I can just glance at them quickly. Now that I have a standard Copics set, I’m adding more copics markers as I need them. Mostly in families of 3 markers of the same color: one light, one medium and one dark of the same color.

I sketch on a daily basis and after I have a doodle that I just love then I add ink using my technical pens. After that is the scanning and working on Photoshop with the line art.

Coco & Mack Christmas: Deck the Halls Blog Hop

  

 

Here is my little "Coco and Mack" glittery Christmas card for The Angel Company's "Deck the Halls Blog Hop". I truly love how the colors POP and its so cheery. Have to say a big thank you to my dear hubby for suggesting red for the background cardstock, its really looks awesome!
