Blue Skies!

We waked up early this morning with the sound of strong winds and rain. Our morning was spent watching local weather reports and playing board games.

Thank God, our home was spared from danger!

By 11:30 a.m. our children were playing at the backyard enjoying the glorious sun and blue sky! This hurricane passed by fairly quickly compared to previous ones.

While they played outside, I "played" with some acrylic paints and painted some cute flowers...(all this possible by the help of my awesome husband Jose).

Heading our way...

Hurricane Wilma will be here in the next 24 hours. Our family lives here in Central Florida (right in the middle of the state) so these past three days we have been preparing for this massive hurricane. Our home is filled with flashlights, batteries, candles, bottled water, cans of food, duck tape, etc...But most important: lots of prayers.  In spite of all the preparations, we have so much fun with our kids! We have played board games, cooked together and visit family (making sure everyone is prepared).

Today my husband Jose checked our roof and attic to make sure everything looks OK. I spent today cleaning and doing laundry. Moving flower pots, garden furniture to a safe place. Tomorrow all schools and businesses are closed.

Please keep our family and our Sunshine State in your prayers.

My sis Yanira's baby shower was simply precious! Lots of white & pink everywhere and lots of baby girl pretties. We had such wonderful time together. I made some chocolate candy (Hershey milk chocolate) wrappers as favors. I printed some pink polka dotted paper to wrap the candy bar and to embellish them I used three types of fabric ribbons and some cute tags. I really enjoy making candy wrappers...

Things have been really hectic in our home, lots of things going on all at once. But I'm excited about a couple of artsy/crafty projects "brewing"...I promise to keep you posted.
